Shirley Hazlett’s art studio is located in Sacramento, California. She exhibits work in contemporary venues, including The California Museum, the Crocker Art Museum, the San Francisco Art Institute galleries, the Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento, and the N. Vancouver, BC, ArtSpace. In addition to pursuing a studio practice, Shirley is a Board Member of the Nelson ARTFriends of the Nelson Art Gallery at the University of California, Davis.

In Sacramento, Shirley is an artist-member of Axis Gallery, an artist-run cooperative space that has been together for over 15 years, building a reputation for exhibiting challenging contemporary artwork from local, national, and international artists. Shirley holds an MFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, and dual BA degrees in Art History and Art Studio from the California State University, Sacramento.
